Laurie Chan - L. Chan

Born: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Studied: University of Manitoba, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Food Science).

In 1986 I moved, with my husband and children, to London, Ontario where I spent many years as a parent participant in a progressive alternative school and as a volunteer in other community organizations. Besides being involved in my husband's herbal health-product export business, I worked for three years as a program support officer at a London-based non-profit organization that supports family and community development in India. I have been a contributor/editor for various community-level newsletters, and wrote a column for a London monthly newspaper. My interests include all things science-related, education, international development, natural history, and photography (and I have special affection for driving, doodling, old postcards, prairie skies, the Bruce Peninsula, and eating out in Hong Kong).
